Bahnsturmers Motorcycle Club By-Laws

  1. Purpose

  2. The intent of this club is to promote fellowship, exchange ideas, and organize activities among a select group of motorcycle enthusiasts.

  3. Membership

    1. An applicant for membership must own or be an enthusiast of motorcycles to be considered for membership.
    2. Applicants for membership must be sponsored by a current club member in good standing and must attend at least three club meetings or functions throughout the course of the year.
    3. A member remains in good standing as long as the yearly membership dues are paid in a timely manner and otherwise meets the standards of conduct of the club. Membership lapses if dues are not paid in the first quarter of each new year.
    4. Members will not engage in disorderly, lewd or offensive conduct while engaging in club functions. Excessive profanity, overindulgence of alcohol, or participation in illegal activities will not be tolerated and could result in expulsion from the club by a simple majority vote of members in good standing.
    5. Non-members are welcome at all general meetings, rides, and social functions of the club provided they are invited guests of specific present members. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests.
    6. Each member in good standing is entitled to voting rights and the right to hold office in the club. Absentee ballots may be submitted to the Secretary of the club in advance of any vote.

  4. Dues

    1. Annual dues shall be for the calendar year, payable within the first quarter of each new year to the Treasurer of the club.
    2. Dues will be $15.00 per calendar year.

  5. Officers

  6. Officers must be members in good standing of the club. The terms of office will be for one calendar year. Elections for officers will take place at the club's Winter social and will take effect immediately.

    1. President --- duties shall be:
      1. Preside at all club meetings.
      2. Supervise the affairs of the club.
      3. Appoint any person or committees, not otherwise ordered by the club.
      4. Personally represent the club on proper occasions and business contacts.
      5. Assist all other officers of the club in their records, correspondence and other duties.
      6. Promote the interests of the club in all club activities.

    2. Vice President --- duties shall be:
      1. Perform assigned duties in the absence of the President.

    3. Secretary/Treasurer --- duties shall be:
      1. Keep a record of the club meetings and meetings.
      2. Send out notices of club meetings and activities.
      3. Handle all club correspondence.
      4. Collect dues and all other monies due the club.
      5. Pay all bills owed by the club through club funds.
      6. Read the Treasurer's report at all regularly scheduled club meetings.
      7. Perform any other duties as generally fall to that office.

    4. Webmeister --- duties shall be:
      1. Update and maintain the club's internet website in a prompt and professional manner.
      2. Coordinate and communicate anything required to the club via this interface.

  7. Meetings

    1. Meetings will be held on the third Saturday of each month, unless otherwise specified by the club.
    2. Meetings will be loosely governed according to Robert's Rules of Order.

  8. Amendments to the Bylaws

  9. These By-laws may be amended or added to as necessary for the club's benefit. Any proposed amendment must be submitted in writing at a regularly scheduled meeting, and will be voted on by the membership in attendance. Majority vote by attending members will be required to pass an amendment.
